Let me start by saying, there are experts looking into this, but of their respective field. To call yourself an expert on a matter that is still classified unknown is easy. Creating a fanciful personality that has an answer for every manner of question. Being a self proclaimed guiding light on a subject of mystery, is the proclamation of a jackass. There are a number in the Community that are self bestowed experts, defending such a title as if bestowed by a head of state. If questioned on their knowledge of a given subject, if feats of verbal gymnastics don’t work, quick bouts of ridicule are unleashed. For the audacity in needing to ask such a question to begin with. They begin to cloud the waters, and become unwitting gatekeepers. Ruling over what is and isn’t acceptable to look into. Using similar tactics of word salad and ridicule to keep those in the flock inline. The “experts”, all have used their art of self promotion to garner money from people under a false premise. That they could somehow increase their chances of seeing a bigfoot. This leads to the obvious question, “Does pressure of monetary losses increase the odds of hoaxing at such paid outings?” How many would complain, if they felt they were or that they didn’t feel they had a satisfactory experience? Better yet, who do you complain to?

I think the term, expert, has become a thorn in the side of the Community. It is an unregulated badge that has only self proclaimed meaning. The one thing it hasn’t done is create the necessary evidence to solve this mystery. It has, however, deepened divides, blurred the lines of acceptable evidence, and bullied those that question.

I don’t think we will have any experts until actual long term expeditions to observe groups in tracked locations, occur. Until we have a full understanding, We can’t come to any conclusions outside of morphology of movement and some behaviors commonly observed that mirror other higher primates. This leaves many gaps in what their day to day life is like, is there any truth to infrasound or psychic ability, do they migrate, etc. There is no end to the questions, and there isn’t a flood of answers pouring in. A part of me does hope that one day we will reach a point where we have a greater understanding of the bigfoot. Another part hopes it isn’t. The only thing that understanding may do, is shut the “experts,” up.
